Zigs one was liek the eaisest matsh question ever. it was 20.

3-2 =1 x 20 = 20 vwalla!

and for bandons, I'd say the answer is an - edge - and can be interpeted in many ways?

19 days (I think) because before it can drop 2 feet it gets over the edge of the well.

lol erm i dunno Bandons yet, but Zig, I got 20 as the some previously njoted explains but I did another way, but it got an odd answer, but if it isnt 20 then what cos surely the easiest way to figure it out is, 20 is the end result, 3-2 = 1 etc?

yeah i see what you eman Bandon but it takes 20 days to reach exactly 20 feet, so it cant be any less or the feet would be elss than 20

but if like this it's:

3-2+3-2+3-2+3-2+3-2+3-2, at this point it's 6. 6+3-2+3-2+3-2+3-2+3-2+3-2+3-2+3-2+3-2, now it's 15 then: 15+3-2=16.
16+3-2=17 17+3= 20 so he's at the top of the wall in 18 days (suz lulz), but if it has to go over 20 feet then on the start of day 19 he'd be at 18 feet so:

18+3=21.

So either 18 days to reach 20 feet if that counts as the top of the wall?
or 19 days if the snail has to go OVER 20 to 21 feet.

u did it s long winded way, its just a simple equation that I got tought years ago in school, 3-2=1x20= i dont see how it can be anyhing different and yes it can be 19

You HAVE to go the long way.
1st day., at 0 ft. climbs 3.
1st night. falls 2 to 1 ft.
2nd day. climbs 3 to 4 ft.
2nd night. falls 2 to 2 ft.
etc
UNTIL
You get to:
15. (starts at 14 feet) climbs 3 to 17
15 night: falls to 15.
16 day: climbs 3 to 18
16 night falls 2 to 16.
17 day climbs 3 to 19 ft.
17 night falls 2 to 17 ft.
18 day climbs 3 TO 20 FT, HAS REACHED THE TOP OF THE WELL. Whether he falls 2 again at night is irrelevant.
