Good poem!

A short (very short) poem that all of ye shall most probably see each time you come on:

When in the snow, I like to lie, fold my arms and wait to die.

Yeah, sorta sad but still.

When in the snow, I like to lie, fold my arms and wish for pie.

That's my version.

Man/dude how can you like that game better than this game. The story line and combat is way better dude/man.

I know some parts dont rhyme but I dont care

Hall of Life Giver

Ancient ruins stand solemly but proudly,
a race once thriving perished to the great poison,
seeping and splitting through life accordingly
ceasing that of whoem or what it so gently came upon.

Such vast and wonderful architectural structures,
eventually meeting their foreseen destination,
technologies and combat had no resiliance agaisnt the near future,
as time passed their could only be one last prediction.

Death, the undeniable future for all physical life,
one room stood gaurd prevailing against the great poision,
only few that remained took shelter,
but their undoutbable future walked with free access.

As time passed so did the last remaining lives,
their future had been met,
their decaying bodies preserved plant life to grow well and alive,
this gaurding room, a hall, truly became the last life giver of the planet.

The Great Poison, with claws as deep as tree routes,
soon came to an end,
with no life to take,
it soon became its own poision, leaving the Hall of Life Giver to glow in all darkness.

Very nice imagery at the end, a few grammar mistakes..
But that's pretty good.


The world is formed, lava seethes and boils,
It cools, plants arrive, to the sky they toil,
Tiny cells on the plants form, fighting for their life,
But long still before true life, and with it all it's strife.

The cells grow, become a mould, forming on the dead,
Lifeless leaves and sap, lying on the ground forlorn,
The mould grows, plants decay,
But life strives towards another day.

Now insects come, they buzz and fly,
Some begin to fill the sky,
They rule the earth, the sea and land,
But centuries before man may stand.

The insects eaten by birds now die,
All the death but nothing cries.
For what is death to the bird that sings,
When life all around, the sun it's king.

Snakes come now, frogs and deer,
Through leaves, water and branches they peer.
Searching for the nameless thief,
That comes in the night, leaves only grief.

Now great creatures walk around,
Mammoths the greatest, shaking the ground.
And even they are subject to he,
Death spares nothing and nobody.

Man arrives, at long last, standing here,
But humanity, though strong, still feels fear.
Fear, the harbringer of the end,
We, like wheat, break and bend.

And the end comes, humanity dead,
The great cities, structures fled.
Death passes through with it's invisible knife,
We are nothing to a billions years of life.

Something I just made up.
Not fantastic, if I had my proper computer I could post the poem that was put in the school..er..booklet, news, type thing, equivalent of a school paper I suppose.

Good form idea you got their, nice going through the stages of life and good ending, I liked it could be a bit little bit more hilly rather than some odd plain patches of land that I noticed - but nothing big

Do you mean the fact I didn't include anything living in the mountains? That's true, because I couldn't find anything fitting with the theme that rhymed with mountains.
It's my first attempt at a rhyming poem.
And thank you for the compliments and criticism.

The General

"Good-morning; good-morning!" the General said
When we met him last week on our way to the line.
Now the soldiers he smiled at are most of ’em dead,
And we’re cursing his staff for incompetent swine.
"He’s a cheery old card," grunted Harry to Jack
As they slogged up to Arras with rifle and pack...

But he did for them both by his plan of attack.

God, I recognise that poem from somewhere.

I hate those depressing wartime poems. Still, at least they are better than chavs rapping in this day and age...
