Lost Earth Empty
PostSubject: Lost Earth   Lost Earth EmptyThu Apr 01, 2010 4:38 pm

Intro
“My name is John Estar, a former citizen of Britain. If anyone is reading this, then they should know that this is my guide to surviving in an Alien infested world. This holds a short history on the fall of Earth, a weapons guide, many maps which show the best routes to get around the aliens, a guide on the different types of aliens and their weaknesses and a list of my final days. You see, I was killed, the aliens hunted me down. I don’t know how I died, but they killed me. At least I took some with me, I hope. The aliens are almost unstoppable, almost being the operative word here. There are a few ways open to mankind’s survivors, all of them involve death whether there is success or failure, a suicide strike into their central hive is the best chance of success...”

The Fall of Earth
“Well, it is quite easy to say we were fools to start with. The aliens came to Earth claiming to come in peace, so we accepted them and gave them some land in America. The first few years was okay, then overnight America disappeared to be replaced with an alien hive, the people just disappeared. It was only when the aliens openly took over South America and Canada that we realised something had to be done, we prepared for war, Russia to strike through Alaska and Europe across the Pacific. We went to bed one day with Russia safe and ready to attack and woke up the next morning to find huge hoards of aliens sweeping across Asia and Europe from Russia. How we were fools... They quickly crushed every nation on the planet and sank Australia. But we didn’t fall easily, although they are building their hives, there are survivors all over Europe alone or in small groups moving quickly to avoid being pinned down by the aliens. Even now there is a chance we can strike hard and quickly at the aliens before they know what has hit them!”

Lost Earth Empty
PostSubject: Re: Lost Earth   Lost Earth EmptyThu Apr 01, 2010 4:39 pm

The survivors weapons
-PX13 Handgun: “These are easy to get your hands on, fair sized clips, quiet and accurate, trouble is, they have the piercing power of a football. The likely hood of killing any fair sized alien is small.”

-PX40 Handgun: “These ones are more effective than the 13 model, they are basically your average handheld machine gun with dampers to make them quiet. They have the same piercing power of the 13 but if used accurately, sheer volume of bullets will break through most alien’s armour.”

-Delta Rifle: “These are more effective than the handguns, higher piercing power, more accurate and has a scope, sometimes. They are however louder, not really loud though and have a low firing rate.”

-Bandit Machinegun: “Now this is a bad boy. A clip of one hundred, high firing rate, piercing ability and little aiming required. Problems with this one is the noise which is excessive, the very low accuracy, it is very jumpy when firing and it eats up a lot of ammunition very quickly.”

-V7 Shotgun: “Now this is my favourite, dual barrelled, quick loading, low-medium noise level, double shots and armour piercing. This one is the best for cracking aliens open, their armour is like paper to this baby! It does have some problems though, low ammunition capacity and slow to reload. It also works best at a short-medium range, which isn’t always ideal.”

-RPG: “Does what it says on the tin. Very load, mostly accurate, brings down walkers, flyers and tanks.”

Alienography
Limpets
“There are two types of limpets. Droppers and Hangers. Both look like large grey limpets on the ceiling in the dark and hang down, to just above the floor, tentacle feelers. When you brush against these Droppers will drop on you and latch onto you, injecting a paralysing venom which quickly kills you. Hangers wrap their tentacles around you and drag you up towards them. Sometimes strangling the victim. After killing you or incapacitating you they will slowly digest their meal, their metabolism is very slow so they can survive for a long time without food. Best killed by staying away and shooting them”

Crawlers
“Not strictly crawlers, these are small aliens with large fangs and sharp claws. They were probably once dogs. They move very quickly across the ground before jumping on the victim and mauling them before dragging the mutilated corpse back into the dark where it will eat some before leaving it. Don’t let them get in close! They make a chittering sound most of the time, when you here this, be on your guard.”

Birdies
“These are about the same size as Crawlers and do much the same thing with their long fangs and talons, look like miniature Pterodactyls. They fly in large groups and make a strange, throaty cawing sound. If you hear them, take cover because shooting them doesn’t do much to the group number.”

Flyers
“These are really big aliens that look vaguely like Birdies. They are used to hunt down humans in the countryside or open spaces. They make a loud foghorn bellow when they are hunting. If one of these is nearby, a large alien force is probably in the vicinity. Stick to dense cover and move very, very quickly to get away from them. If there is no cover around pull out a machine gun and point it at its head, if it has one. The head, if it has one, is the weakest spot. If it doesn’t have one it won’t have the talons but carries walkers or tanks for the alien forces.”

Xenos
“These are humanoid aliens which are the intelligent aliens.
-Soldiers: The most common who carry slashing claws or bio-guns. Stay away from the claws, they are very fast and very deadly.
-Assassins: Secretive aliens rarely seen. They use scything talons and bio-guns to eliminate targets they can easily creep up on. They are deadly but only come in groups of one, luckily. Just watch your back and have a shotgun close at hand.
-Guards: If you stray too close to an Alien Hive or spawning pit, these larger aliens are going to be the ones around, numerous around hives and wielding either flay whips or large Bio-rifles. They are tough and intelligent, very dangerous. Protruding eyes could be a weakness, although the legs are susceptible to collapsing if you shoot them a couple of times with a rifle.
-Warriors: These are the big guns in an alien force, they usually come in small numbers with a large group of soldiers and tanks. Wielding either multiple scything talons or one big bio-rifle. With excessive armour these guys are tough nuts to crack, though they burn very easily due to the thin oil coating they mysteriously have. They are identifiable by their big heads, usually the leaders in an alien force. Their mid-riff is their weak spot, but you can barely damage it there.
-Hunters: Basically they are soldiers with slashing claws who run very fast and run in packs.
-Divers: Medium sized aliens with gliding wings plus scything talons or slashing claws. If there is a tall building a few of these are bound to be on top of it. Easy to kill if you pay attention, it is when you don’t that they can cause damage.”

Alien vehicles
“They all have several weakness but the trusty RPG is the best weapon against them.

-Tanks: Armed with acid sprayers, Bio-cannons or a solid munitions cannon. Hovering platforms of annoyance and death. Look rather like Trilobites or arthropods.
-Walkers: Huge three legged pods armed with lasers and Bio-cannons, uncommon but seriously bad news. Almost always one in a large group of aliens.
-Stalkers: The name says it all. An open cockpit, two legged hunter vehicle. Armed with Bio-rifles these ones pack a quick punch. Mostly reconnaissance for larger vehicles and large groups. Sit a distance away and you can knock the pilot out with a rifle. Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be a way to pilot them.”

Necessary Equipment
“All the things a survivor/group needs to stay alive:
-Flashlights (one per. person)
-Compass (several)
-Maps, these help get around
-Knife (at least one per. person)
-Food, stock up at corner shops, supply dumps (not alien ones though) or supermarkets
-Portable gas cooker
-Batteries
-A plan”

Storyline
So far, will be updated! Watch this post, will give OOC: Warnings when it is updated.

Chapter 1: Fogbound Suburbs
Early spring, Northern England a group of survivors is accidently formed when they bump into each other. They hatch a plan to escape down to the South via the coast. A small alien patrol finds them and causes some trouble...

Chapter 2: Cityscape
Having dealt with the patrol, the survivors head through the city, constantly plagued by small aliens and animals. A large alien force, sent to capture human survivors spots them and gives chase...

Chapter 3: The Sewer Road
Escaping to the sewers the group wades its way across the sewer system to the other side of the city, meeting some survivors who have holed up in the sewers, to survive. As they leave the sewers, entering a river they find the remains of a survivor home, with supplies and a boat. Speeding down the river, the group is chased by aliens, again.

Chapter 4: The Coast Road
Reaching the coast, the group finds some working cars. They take them down the beach, waking up a swarm of large and weird aliens. Finally getting onto a road that runs along coastal cliffs, the group appears to have an open road to a large cluster of shipping warehouses which is said to be the base of a large group of survivors who give fellow survivors the supplies needed to get down to the south...

POST POST POST!

_ _ _ _

The fog hung over the suburbs in a thick, grey mass. This didn't really detract from the suburbs since the roads were moderately cracked up, grass and weeds were everywhere, as well as many alien/alienated plants that grew like wildfire, not only those things but most of the houses had been fairly damaged and had lost some; windows, walls, chimneys, parts of the roof. Despite the loss of bits and peices of the houses they were relatively intact, apart from the odd few where the aliens had completely flatened them to get at survivors, most dead or gone. No one knew where captured humans went, apart from off the island, no one knew what happened to them, enslaved, melted down, put in arenas there were many theories.
On the corner of the street was a rather beaten house, or exshop to use the correct term. It was a cornershop, still open in the basement to survivors who needed restocking to go where ever they wanted/needed to go. A crawler chittered nearby and ran out into the street. Quiet pistol shots, barely audible echoed. The crawler whined and scampered off...

"I'm telling you Fisher, no aliens are going to be looking down here! it has protected you intil now." "Jack, these aliens saw you coming back earlier. They now know we are hiding in this basement. Grab your gear, we are leaving." Drake got up off his chair and picked up his shotgun. Jack, his buddy picked up a machine gun. Suddenly, a scampering noise came from up in the house. "I told you Jack, come on, follow me." Fisher walked up the stairs with his shotgun ready to fire. He opened the basement door into his house. It was in bad disrepair. In the center of the floor layed a crawler.

Jack fired at it and blew it's brains out. Fisher immediatly grabbed the barrel and shouted at Jack "Thanks Jack! Now the entire lot know we are here! Get some cover!" Fisher dived behind a sofa as aliens smashed through the windows. It took Jack by suprise and a crawler jumped onto his head and ripped it apart. Jack fell to the floor screaming as Fisher blew apart aliens around his friend's corpse...

Lost Earth Empty
PostSubject: Re: Lost Earth   Lost Earth EmptySat Apr 03, 2010 1:39 pm

On the remains of the front window were various posters, part of one said "The best... Northeast of Britain 2011!". A machine gun burst roared from somewhere nearby resulting in a pack of crawlers immediately bombing through every gap in the walls. In the cornershop was a trapdoor, well hidden as well. It slowly opened on silent hinges. A man wielding a shotgun cautiously popped out and carefully closed the trapdoor after him. Checking around for unknown objects or signs, muttering something under his breath he carefully opened the front door which was riddled with bullet holes and rocky shrapnel. Stepping into the street the man quickly moved down the street in his blue camoflage fleece and beige trousers. His name was John, John Baker. He stepped over cracks and pot holes, dodged around peices of rubble from the road and bits of chimney. He reached the now demolished side door of the house which had clearly seen better days. He moved in and immediately fired a round straight through the lead crawlers midriff killing it and sending the others scattering off out of the house and down the street. Ignoring the man standing by the trapdoor and the mauled corpse John crossed straight over to the crawler he had killed and knealt down beside its shredded remains. The house had been hit by a solid projectile some time ago, leaving a crater in one side of it and annihilating the wall on that side, along with the second floor and most of the cieling a cieling lamp hung precariously by a few wires on the edge of cieling. It chose that moment to fall and smash with a bit of noise on the floor. John paused, he cocked his head to the side and listened to the noises in the distance. There was a foghorn like bellow far off in the distance, from the city. At this he looked up at the sky, frowning, but unable to see any lights he returned to studying the crawlers head. He found various signs that it wasn't a normal crawler but he didn't comment on these, he just stayed silent, keeping his senses trained on his surroundings though.

OOC: Remember to try and give a detailed description of the surroundings in your posts because this can increase the potential for causing enviromental deaths which are helpful and help other RPers in many ways including hidung, survivning, taking cover and get an idea of possible paths to take, etc.

Fisher got up and crept towards Jack's corpse. That wasnt all the aliens, some must be hiding. He picked up the machine gun and shouldered it and he took the ammo from his friend's body. He looked up. Fisher heard the noise too. Drake sniffed the air. He looked at the man nearby. "Keep on your guard, there's more around somewhere. If I can trust you, cover me, I am gonna check upstairs." Drake walked over to an intact wall and pressed his back against it. He then edged to the side near his old stair case. He span out of cover. No aliens. He then cautiosly walked up the stairs. He noticed one of the steps being slightly off. He poked it ad it broke open.

Suddenly something large and grey lept out. Fisher with lightning reflexes fired. It's head opened up like a water melon. The dead body rolled down the stairs while Drake crept up them.
