Ten most 'Evil' Characters, in my opinion.

I am personally sick and tired of people who don't play games doing lineups of the top ten most evil characters. So here's my lineup, as I have played these games before. I judge based on true evilness, okay, so these are the things I do not vote on.

Popularity. I don't care how popular that bad guy is, if he's not evil enough he ain't making the grade.

Forced evil. This is where they are not evil inherently, but are being evil because they are being forced, blackmailed, tormented into doing so. These people are not evil, they are being controlled by evil.

Characters doing their preprogrammed job are not evil. In the Case of Dark Gaia, she is a massive hyper energy organism DESIGNED to destroy the world, for Light Gaia to re-create. She might not WANT to destroy the world, but she has to because that's her 'job' in life. Therefore, she is not evil, she is doing her duty, and so dismissed from the top ten. The same can be said for Light Gaia- he is not a hero just because he re-creates the world, but he is there strictly to do what has been ordered of him in life.

Characters made evil by emotions. Someone who starts off so sad and lonely, and then does bad things because of it are not necessarily evil, but they generally are evil out of their own choice and so you might see them appear here every now and then.

So, here we are, the top ten most 'evil' characters!

10-Sephiroth from Final Fantasy: Not really that evil, but popularity made him so. NOT here! Sephiroth destroyed a planet and went on a rampage. Whoop-de-doo. Okay, he's evil because of genocide, but not really as bad as they come. Not by a long shot. Sephiroth gets tenth position for being a decent adversary and quite cool to look at, but he lacks in the nastiness division.

9-Orochi from Warriors Orochi: This guy makes for one epic boss. He's sick, twisted and probably the coolest boss you'd ever take on. He wields this scythe that makes you dribble from awesomeness overdose every time you see it. He is the serpent king and let's not forget that he pretty much wiped out everyone from the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors series to the point where they had to combine all of their forces to stand a chance against him. Magnificent boss, like Sephiroth, but still not really evil enough to fit the bill.

8-Adria from Stargate SG-1: She is the epitomy of Power, but maybe not as evil as you think she'd be. Adria is the Orici, prophet of the Ori. She is a human with the power to bend the Universe around her little finger. She can read minds, set water on fire, cause a black hole to form with a wave of her hand, and she also activated an Ori City-Ship just by thinking about it! She also has a 100% impenetrable shield that protects her from absolutely everything, whenever she activates it. She's pretty much indestructible to all who oppose her, and yet she has this really nice behaviour and personality. She's a sort of 'bad guy in a good mood' sort of thing. She's Evil, but she's not as evil as some of the ones coming up.

7-Dark-Oak from Sonic-X: Leader of the Metarex, his most notable act of Evil was continuously torturing Sonic's friends right in front of his eyes. Unfortunately, that's pretty much all he did. Yes, he's thousands of times weaker than Adria, but he's more evil than her, and that's what puts him in front.

6-The Borg Queen from Star Trek: She is evilness! The Borg queen is responsible for possibly the biggest act of genocide ever encountered. She has assimilated over a million different races with her Borg cronies, eliminating them forever. She has been an adversary to some of the best star trek heroes of the series, and her Borg friends have never once failed to inspire fear. Resistance is Futile!

5-Prince Arthas from World of Warcraft: Arthas Menethil, the Lich King. His evil can only be hinted at, because he has done many, many horrible things. So let's focus on the worst! He was corrupted by Frostmourne, the Sword of Ner'zhul, and lost his mind while travelling through northrend. He came back to lordaeron, murdered his own father in front of an entire committee, laughed at his father's corpse, and casually walked off with the committee in absolute horror and confusion as to what happened. That's when he finally led the scourge into Azeroth.

4-Our Despair Embodied/ Argosax the Chaos from Devil May Cry: These guys are-quite frankly-the most evil creatures from hell you can get. Despair Embodied is formed when you have lost all hope, for whatever reason. He is created by your hopelessness, and once fully formed, he kills you. Horribly. Despair is most famous for his release from the King of Hell, Argosax the Chaos, after its defeat. Despair is Androdgynous (Male AND
Female, but not both at the same time,) made completely from fire, emotionless (sort of), heartless and cruel. His/Her perfect body allows him/her to easily defeat some of the best fighters alive, and so that alone gave Dante one hell of a challenge. Despair is awesomeness.

3-Ganondorf from Legend of Zelda: Popularity aside, Ganondorf is 'the king of evil', so he should really be here. He is spiteful, somewhat sadistic, craves power and wants everyone to die, or at least he wants world domination. He commands dark powers, released Zant with the promise of power, wanted the Triforce to himself, so we can say he Reeeaaallly loves power. And let's not forget, he has also kidnapped Zelda god-knows how many times. Mmmm, beast Ganon!

2-The Hive Queen from Warhammer 40,000: Overlady of the Tyanid Empire, and possibly the most unstoppable force of evil ever encountered. She commands countless billions upon billions upon billions of Tyranids, all led by her adamantine will and cold heart. She has been the destruction of so many worlds, the annihilation of so many lives. She commands the universe's most vicious locust swarm, and there is NOTHING that can stop her. Even the Space Marines are starting to admit that the Hive Queen will soon be placing her claws around Terra, and there is little they can do to stop her. They can only slow her down. They will never stop her completely.

And now, let us see the final, and most Evil character around!







GIYGAS!

And you wanna know why? Giygas is 'evil incarnate.' Giygas isn't just evil, he IS EVIL. Pure Evil. That's what they tell you in the Mother/Earthbound games. Giygas is Evil's true form.

So there we have it, the top ten most evil peoplez!

I know only one of those characters, Ganondorf.

My lineup would be:

Vorbis, Abbadon, Shiro Tagachi, The Master, Cyrus, Jafar, Zamorak, Optimarus, Varesh Ossa, Optimus Caliph

10. Cyrus- From the pokemon fourth generation games. He tried to enslave the legendary pokemon of time and space to effectively restore the world to default settings; wipe all humans but him and his followers off the face of the planet.

9. Optimarus- You all know who he is. Seriously, he tortured a guy while listening to classical music that he himself composed, and you all know what he did to Airien. He tried to crash a bloody meteor into the world, and he frankly didn't give a damn if he died or not.

8.Varesh Ossa- from Guild Wars Nightfall. She was the ruler of one of three provnices, and effectively sold her soul to Abbadon, the banished god. She was his vassal in the mortal world, helping him to plunge ot world into eternal darkness, and make it a duplicate of the Realm of Torment, Abbadon's chaotic prison.

7. The Master- my favourite character in Doctor Who. Took over the world, slaughtered 10% of the world's population with their descendants, by use of cannabalising the only remaining Tardis. Was going to enslave and conquer the whole damn galaxy.

6. Jafar - from disney's Aladdin. Was all about power, tried to marry the sultan's daughter, hypnotised the sultan, took control of a genie, became successively the sultan, the most powerful sorcer ever, and the most powerful genie ever.

5. Shiro Tagachi- Another from Guild Wars, factions this time. Flipped out and kiled the emperor he was meant to be guarding. When he died, he petrified the entire sea and forest, turning water to jade where it stood and the trees to stone. When he returned, he was so evil and powerful he corrupted anything he even went vaguely near, turning them into zombie-like abominations.

4. Zamorak- god of chaos in Runescape. Killed (Well, supposedly...) his master, Zaros, became a god, and began the God Wars- attacked the other gods of Runescape, creating a horrific war that lasted the entirety of the Third Age, and turned a vast portion of the landscape into a burning, lava filled wasteland.

3. Optimus Caliph- From Guild Wars prophecies, Optimus Caliph was the greatest of the Mursaat, an almost divine race that tricked the whole of a country into worshipping them as gods. When a band of rebels called the shining blade fought back, the Mursaat fought and destroyed them ruthlessly. A prophecy that a member of the Chosen people would bring an end to thge Mursaat reign, and so the Mursaat had any Chosen sacrificed atop the bloodstones.

2. Vorbis- from Small Gods, by Terry Pratchett, he doesn't seem at first truly evil. He is cruel, and deeply unpleasant, and ambitious. But then you realise, his greatest evil is that he turns others evil. He makes others do horrible and cruel things, making duplicates of his own nastiness.

1. ABBADON- originally the god of water and knowledge in Guild Wars land of Tyria, He was the one who distributed magic among the races of Tyria. When it got out of control and the Gods took it back, Abbadon got angry, and with his followers the Margonites fought the other five gods. In this war of 5 to one, Abbadon nearly won. In the end he was banished to the Realm of Torment, along with his followers, but even from there, he corrupted the Lich to release the burning Titans upon Tyria, corrupted Shiro Tagachi to attack Emperor Kisu, and Tried to plunge the entirety of relity into the Realm of Torment. You don't get much more evil then this guy. Oh, and he's a god, so he's F***ING POWERFUL.

For those in Guild Wars, to truly understand the depth of the evil, you need to play the game, especilly for Optimus Caliph, Varesh and Abbadon.

good choices both of you! What about Voldemort? He's pretty evil, the things he does and specially the things to get to each part of his soul. You can also see visually in the last HP film

and im not sure but what about Dark Samus? originally just destroys but has grown a thrist for evil and destruction. What about the last guy in Dementium? he left you in a hospital (horror) with monster and experiments etc. He turned normal humans and experimented and tortured them in front of the others who were about to get the same treatment

I don't think the evil you mentioned in them even matches up to things like Giygas, Abbaddon and Ganondorf. I agree that they are evil, but they aren't the most evil characters in existence.

Come to think of it, the Master from Doctor Who isn't mercilessly evil IMO, but he is nuts. (I mean, seriously, does anyone who claims to be a villain but sings and dances actually have any sanity left? They must be insane!)

Giygas is the very core of Evil. He is this super powerful entity who tries to destroy the world (Which he was more than capable of doing) but a group of kids try to stop him. In the end, the only thing that hurt Giygas was the power of Good. The world prayed for the safety of the children and this destroyed him. Just.

Sounds pathetic if he can't stop a couple of 'lil kids. Meh, that is what I think. I dunno who would be most evil out of all the people I have seen in games and all that. Hmm...

The entire world had to pray their hearts out to weaken him. The entire world.

It depends on what you consider evil.
If you don't include insanity, situation, emotion, etc, then of my list I think that only Vorbis, Abbadon, Varesh, Jafar, and Zamorak are truly evil.
But Abbadon is one of my favourite villains, in Guild Wars when you actually play the last 4 missions in the Realm of torment you get an idea for what his mind is like, since his mind and emotions actually shape the entire realm.

Well Abaddon was the chief demon of those in the Seventh ring of hell, or something, and the word probably comes from Avadon which means Doom in Hebrew.

Voldemort is sorta evil. I suppose. But dark samus...I'm not sure (becos i haven't got to him ingame yet)
